Inspiring international investors were the judges at Start-Up Chile’s 7th DemoDay. The team behind “Sylleta” got the highest scores by the DemoDay judges and is getting ready to visit San Francisco.
Start-Up Chile hosted its 7th DemoDay on April 10th. The founding team at “Sylleta” got the highest scores by the DemoDay judges and is now getting ready to visit San Francisco for further meetings with potential investors.
Sylleta is lead by Nikhil Gunari and Gilbert Walker. Nikhil joined Start-Up Chile from Canada and partnered with a Chilean to take the project further. Sylleta is devoted to develop cost-effective and eco-friendly solutions to the marine industry. During his 3-minute pitch, Nikhil grabbed people’s attention by drinking his own product and challenging his competition to do the same.
This DemoDay had great international investors as judges. Vijay Nagappan represented MHS Capital while Rafael Corrales represented Charles River Ventures. Andrew Hyde, founder at Startup Weekend, also served as a DemoDay judge, and inspired dozens of people during his open talk in Santiago.
16 startups were on stage during Start-Up Chile’s 7th DemoDay. Each one had only 3 minutes to wow an audience of more than 60 investors. A secret evaluation lead to Sylleta (www.sylleta.com) being the winner of the DemoDay, with Copyright Agent and DoubleMaps (www.doublemap.com) awarded with the second and third place, respectively.
CONGRATS TO NIKHIL AND SYLLETA’S FOUNDING TEAM!
