Schoooools.com Launches from Chile to the World

Projects & Participants

Schoooools.com is a simple personal learning environment targeted for schools that promotes co-creation, collaboration, and sharing of digital media contents which, today, the founders are officially launching from Chile to the rest of the world, having developed the majority of the applications here in South America.

Combining the best web technologies (social networks, collaborative editors, blogs, chat, microblogging, calendars, etc.), in a simplified and integrated way, schoooools.com allows teachers to engage students on learning any kind of content, informally, socially, and on their own pace, at the same time that respects the privacy rules of the respective real social circles (families, classrooms, schools).

João Valente, one of the startup’s founders comments that they are excited to “share the satisfaction of having been working on this project for five months as part of our first international experience.”

Schoooools.com is part of Tecla Colorida, a group of entrepreneurs from Porto, Portugal, that started its activities as a startup in mid-2009 with the idea of tackling the global market as their ultimate goal. After working with several pilot schools in Portugal, the internationalization of the company started effectively in Chile, in June 2011, supported by Start-Up Chile program.

Here, you can see them working alongside their Start-Up Chile partners, zuggi and AgentPiggy, with a school in the Puente Alto municipality in Santiago:
