Santiago, June 2017. – Women’s leadership in high-impact startups is still low compared with traditional small and medium business (SMB). In 2015 Start-Up Chile created a new entrepreneurial program named The S Factory, a pre-accelerator specifically for teams with a female founder.
The 16-week program accepts founders from all over the world to become part of the largest and most diverse startup community in the world. Selected startups will receive 10 million Chilean pesos (USD $15,000), courses, mentorship and pitch training to accelerate their ideas. Additionally, founders from outside of Chile will be granted a one-year working visa to come to Chile.
To qualify for selection, startups must be in the concept or prototype stage with less than 6 months of development and must be led by a female founder. This doesn’t mean all the team members have to be female, just the team leader.
Applications for the sixth generation of the program will be open from June 13th until June 27th and will accept a total of 20-30 startups.
