Platform that combines traditional banking with blockchain technology won Start-Up Chile Demo Day

The 10 top startups from the Seed program of Start-Up Chile exhibited their companies in front of judges and investors. Husky, startup from Brazil, was awarded the first place and a ticket to San Francisco. Plus, those who couldn’t attend could watch the event directly on streaming and Facebook Live.

 

The top 10 startups of Start-Up Chile, showed the most relevant businesses of the 17th generation of the acceleratio program. These were selected from a group of more than 80 ventures, which competed to present to a select group of guests, investors, press and influencers.

Demo Day is the culminating moment of the 7-month acceleration program for entrepreneurs. They only had 3 minutes to delight attendees with their ideas, business models, sales and market visions.

In this opportunity, the companies that showed their businesses came from Chile (4), USA (2), Perú (1), Brazil (1) and Spain (1). The startups represented various industries, such as IT, education, e-commerce, Fintech and Artificial Intelligence, among others.

The judges decided that the best startup of the day was Husky platform that combines traditional banking systems with blockchain technology to make international payments easy for the next generation of business people.

Being the first place, Husky got a round trip ticket to Silicon Valley, San Francisco, courtesy of Transbank.

The second place was for Gencomex, a marketplace that gathers and provides all the logistics operators information to help companies manage their international freight Budget.

The third place was for Nexatlas, a flight planning and air navigation app for pilots with built-in marketplace of flight support services.

The winners received awards from Transbank, Viña Requingua and Banco Bci and then enjoyed a cocktail with the attendees.

The event was streamed live by streaming and on Facebook Live thanks to Microsoft.
