Life as a Start-Up Chile Entrepreneur: Rafael

Projects & Participants

Meet Rafael Simao. He’s a 29 year old Economist from Porto, Portugal who is the founder of Nonius Group– a startup that takes technology developed by researchers, transforms it into products, and then elaborates it to the point where it can be funded by investors and converted into a viable company.

Inspired by a project he lead during his time studying for an MBA where he transformed technology developed in the University into commercializable products, he already has one product in his soon-to-be-growing inventory: a navigation system for Remotly Operated Vehicles.

An avid soccer fan, Rafael arrived to Chile as part of 2011’s first round and is one of the several UPTEC alumni participating in the program.
