From Flickr to Start-Up Chile

Moving from the environment of Flickr, with millions of users, hundreds of servers, and a globally known brand, to starting our start-up from scratch.

Come and learn about the experience of Chris and Bertrand, two entrepreneurs that choose to leave one of the biggest startups to start their own.

Starting a company is hard, but so is maintaining and growing one of the largest and most popular sites on the Internet. We’ll talk about challenges we faced working at Flickr with millions of users, large infrastructure, and an experienced team; and how we are applying lessons learned there to the challenges of building a Start-up from the ground up.

Chris Martin and Bertrand Fan Chris and Bert met while working together on the engineering team at Flickr. Their past experience includes work at Yahoo Research,, and hundreds of other projects, and they’ve each visited dozens of countries along the way. They’re currently building, the best place to archive and explore your digital life.
