Chilean Startup wins the first place of the Start-Up Chile Demo Day

The most outstanding startups of Generation 18 of the Seed program of Start-Up Chile presented their companies before judges, investors and other entrepreneurs, in order to win a trip to Silicon Valley. Portal Terreno, a Marketplace specialized in the land market, was awarded the first place.

The 13 best start-ups in the Seed program of Start-Up Chile were responsible for showing to judges, investors and mentors, the most relevant businesses of the 18th generation of the program. These were selected from a group of more than 80 entrepreneurs, who competed to present in the long-awaited Demo Day.


In this event, which marks the end of the 7-month acceleration program, each startup had to present its business with a 3-minute pitch.

After a long process of deliberation, the 5 judges in charge of the selection chose the Chilean startup, a Marketplace specialized in the land purchase and sale market, with more than 3,500 unique visitors per day and more than 6,400 active publications. For Andrés Sadler, its founder, “the support of Start-Up Chile was key to the progress and positioning of The support and mentor network helped us streamline our processes and triple our progress during the program. “

Portal Terreno is the first winning startup of a Demo Day that began its entire process under the programs of Start-Up Chile, first as part of the Founders Lab, which seeks to empower Chilean entrepreneurs and promote the startup ecosystem, moving on to the Seed program.

The second place was taken by Spectro, a startup that helps retail promote sustainable growth, through actionable information on store performance and buyer behavior, through the use of sensors and AI technology.

For its part, the Platform obtained the third place, with a company that

uses blockchain technology to send international cash transfers from Chile to the rest of Latin America.

For all startups that want to be part of this acceleration program and transform their company into a global business, Start-Up Chile has open its application process for Generation 20 until January 30th.

First Place is a marketplace specialized in the land market. They aim to improve the problem of information asymmetry in the land market in all Latin American cities.

Second place Spectro: Spectro is a Retail Intelligence platform that uses Small Sensors and Big Data to help Malls & Stores optimize operations, increase profitability & improve shopper experience. Our dashboard, alerts & reports provide metrics, analytics, actionable insights and recommendations to help management teams better understand their shoppers and drive business.

Third place LaPlataforma: La Plataforma utilizes bitcoin technology to improve international money transfers for individuals without bank accounts. Through a mobile-optimized platform, they allow users to send cash to family members back in their country of origin directly from their mobile phone, at afraction of the cost and without a bank account.
